Volume 1 Issue 7
Happy end-of-the-year everyone. I hope you’re all having
a SUPER holiday season. No matter what your religion. To quote
my favorite orator, Bart Simpson, "Christmas is a time when
people of all religions come together to worship Jesus Christ."
What's New!
November was a busy month for me comedy-wise,
culminating in Judy Carter’s weekend Comedy Conference
in Palm Springs, CA. There I got to meet people from all over
the world (including Cleveland)
at all stages of their comedy careers, from Mr. “I’ve
never done an open mike” to Miss “I’ve been doing
road gigs for ten years kill me now.” I met some really interesting
people, including my roommate whom I had never met before the conference,
yet who felt conformable enough to sleep in the nude.
There were
several famous people there, including Rick Overton and Loni Love,
who won “Best Comic” at the 2003 HBO Comedy Festival
in Aspen. If there is one pearl of wisdom I took home from that
weekend (besides never try to out-drink a Canadian) is to write
constantly. Write everyday, even if you don’t want to. Especially
when you don’t want to, ‘cause that may be where the
really funny stuff comes from. I hope to organize my notes from
the conference and put them up on my website sometime soon.
